WEST MICHIGAN — A strong storm system moving into the Great Lakes could bring the first snow to the area by early Wednesday.
Our RPM computer model shows rain spreading across Lake Michigan and into West Michigan by early to mid-morning Wednesday. Temperatures should be could enough that the rain could be mixed with snow north of Grand Rapids. The most likely location will be from near Big Rapids to the north and east. Any accumulations should be light and mainly on grassy areas. The rain/snow mix will chance back to all rain by mid-afternoon.
The forecast page from the National Weather Service predicts a windy day also with east winds at 10-25 mph. The rain will continue most of the day with 0.5″ to 1″ possible.
A few leftover showers are possible on Thursday with highs still in the 40s. Dry weather will return for the weekend with highs back in the 50s.
