Woman stabbed during apparent robbery in SE Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Grand Rapids woman was injured during an apparent robbery early Tuesday morning.

Police say they were called to the area of Bates Street and Dolbee Avenue SE at about 5:00am on reports of a stabbing.  There, they found a 57-year-old woman bleeding from her legs. She is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the woman was walking on Bates when a man approached her and demanded her belongings. Following a struggle, the woman was injured and the suspect ran from the scene.
