Manistee man sentenced to 20 years for producing child porn

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A Manistee man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison Wednesday for producing child pornography of two young girls between the ages of six and eight.

William Schock, 66, was also ordered to pay $25,000 to the victims for counseling costs and ordered to pay the Bureau of Prisons for the cost of his confinement to avoid tax payers having to pay for it.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Grand Rapids, Schock took nude and pornographic pictures of two girls at his home in Manistee and his second home in Tucson, Arizona.  In August of 2015, one the girls shared that Schock was taking pictures of her “modeling” naked and that Schock rewarded her with candy.  Schock pleaded guilty in June.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office reports that at sentencing Wednesday, a letter from the mother of one of the victims was read to the court.  In it, she describes her fears of “the pictures ever surfacing, of people finding out what happened to her daughter, of her child’s mental and emotional quality of life, and of the lifelong trust issues her daughter could face.”
