MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say a 13-year-old boy has died after being struck by a freight train in the Lansing area.
Police officers and firefighters responded Monday after the boy was hit in Ingham County’s Meridian Township and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assistant Meridian Township police Chief Ken Plaga tells the Lansing State Journal that the train was operating on CN railway tracks.
The boy’s name wasn’t immediately released. The death is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
