STURGIS, Mich. — The Michigan State Police Marshall Post’s White Pigeon Detachment is investigating a report of a teenage girl missing from the Sturgis area. Late Sunday night, police announced the teenager, Tamara Lawrence, was found safe.

Troopers are requested information on the whereabouts of 17-year-old Tamara Lawrence, who left her residence to go for a walk at 5:10 p.m. Thursday and never returned home.

The Michigan State Police believe Lawrence left the area to meet with an unknown person. However, they hadn’t had any form of contact with family or friends since Thursday.

According to relatives, it was unlike the teenager to discontinue contact with family and friends.

Troopers said when the girl left she went on her usual walk down Elaine Drive and the U.S. 12 area.
