1. Donald Trump's running-mate Mike Pence and Hillary Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine will go head to head in the only vice presidential debate tonight.

Preparations are underway at Longwood University in Virginia for today's showdown, and the vice president nominees are getting ready.

Kaine has been meeting with advisers to prepare, while Pence is getting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to play the role of Kaine in debate preps.

The face-off will be a chance for the two men to not only highlight differences in policy and leadership style, but it's likely they'll also go after each other's record.

You can catch the debate right here on Fox 17, starting at 9 p.m.

2. 40 new houses will be on display as the Fall Parade of Homes gets underway.

Public viewing starts this Friday and you'll see a little bit of everything from new wall treatments to landscaping and much more.

Tickets may be purchased for $12 at the homes or for $10 in advance at Adventure Credit Union locations.

3. If the weather holds up, a recently rescued bald eagle will be released back into the wild in northern Michigan.

Back in August, someone found him in Manistee County, and contacted Wings of Wonder, a raptor sanctuary and rehabilitation center.

It's believed that he had West Nile Virus, but the organization says he's now fully recovered.

He's set to be released from the Mackinac Bridge today. In fact, he was named Mighty Mac after the bridge!

4. The popularity of bike sharing is booming but it has a major drawback, there's no easy way to rent a helmet.

But now an industrial designer has created a unique, foldable, helmet made from paper.

The plan is to have these available for purchase at vending machines at Bikeshare Stations. When you're done your ride, toss them in a recycle bin.

She's spent a year and a half designing them and they are being safety tested.

Her team dropped 10 pounds of weight from three feet and it withstood the impact.

U.S. federal safety standards require a bike helmet to protect the wearer's head from an impact that's equivalent to a six and a half foot drop.

5. Today is not only Taco Tuesday; it’s also National Taco Day!

Several restaurants are offering special deals and promotions to celebrate.

Qdoba is offering a free drink or an order of chips and salsa to customers who sign up for its loyalty program. On the Border will be serving up 50 cent mini crispy tacos all day.

Taco Bell is celebrating with greeting cards that can be sent through various social media platforms and in text messages. Chipotle is adding chorizo to its menu to celebrate.

Be sure to check with your favorite local restaurants, to see what deals they may be offering as well.
