LUDINGTON, Mich. - The trial of Baby Kate's father, accused of her murder, continued Friday with Kate's mom taking the stand for a second straight day.
Sean Phillips is accused of killing Katherine Phillips in 2011. She was just four months old.
Ariel Courtland took the stand Friday and was cross-examined by Phillips' defense. She traded several texts with Phillips early during Baby Kate's disappearance, but she told the court that she doesn't remember much of that time anymore.
Thursday, Courtland testified that Phillips didn't want Kate, his second child. He had pressured her to get an abortion, but she refused.
Also taking the stand Friday was Alaina Campbell, a friend of Courtlands. She told the court that she remembers Ariel being very panicky when Kate disappeared and asked to use Campbell's phone. She remembers her saying that Kate had been taken.
Kate's body has not been found.
We'll have a live report from Ludington at 4, 5 and 6pm on FOX 17 News.
