INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A random act of kindness by an Indiana State Capitol police officer is warming hearts across the state.

Sergeant Precious Cornner-Jones was at a "high five" rally at IPS school 88 this week a young boy fell on the floor, according to WXIN.

The boy's mother said he was having a bad day, and has been expressing himself like this lately. Sgt. Jones laid down beside the boy to talk with him.

The boy started to cry, and she was there to wipe away his tears and tell him it would be OK.

“This little fella was having a rough morning and fell out on the floor. I saw his mother step back and look. She stated this is how he is expressing himself lately. I decided to get on his level and talk to him,” she said in a Facebook post.

She said she loves that the photo is going viral.

"It makes me happy that people are spreading love," she said. "I've gotten so many positive reactions from this and that the whole purpose of all of this."

Sgt. Cornner-Jones said she volunteers a lot with children because she wants to encourage them and help them realize everything they have to offer.
