GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Chick-fil-A  may soon come to Grand Rapids.

An application made to the Grand Rapids Planning Commission shows plans for a Chick-fil-A to be built at 2183 East Beltline, the site of the former Fajita Republic near Celebration Cinema North.

If the commission approves the application, the restaurant will have both indoor and outdoor seating plus a drive-thru window. It’s expected that the restaurant will employ up to 70 part- and full-time workers.

Ground was recently broken for the construction of a Chick-fil-A in Gaines Township. That restaurant is expected to open early 2017.

The Grand Rapids Planning Commission is expected to hear the proposal in their meeting October 13.
