ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. — A 27-year-old Shepherd man was arrested after officials say he crashed his vehicle during a police chase Sunday morning.
The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened in the area of Blanchard and Wise roads after the man lost control of his vehicle and it rolled into a field.
Deputies started searching for the suspect at about 2:12 a.m. after Gratiot County officials pursued him but lost sight of him in the area of County Line Road and Loomis Road, according to a release.
When Isabella County deputies located him in the area and attempted to stop his vehicle he fled and crashed a short time later, according to the sheriff’s department.
Officials believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. A female passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
The suspect’s name will be released after he is formally arraigned.
