ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — A Michigan State Police trooper on a motorcycle was struck along I-94 Friday.
FOX 2 in Detroit reports that the incident happened when the driver of a blue GMC pick-up truck went around another vehicle and then “brake checked” them. The driver of the other vehicle reportedly swerved and struck the trooper’s motorcycle.
That driver stopped after the crash but police are looking for the driver of the GMC truck, according to FOX 2.
The trooper was hospitalized. Their condition is unclear.
Officials tell FOX 2 the trooper was heading to the funeral of Detroit Police Sgt. Ken Steil.
Eastbound I-94 was closed at Vernier Road.
