ArtPrize activities for the whole family

With ArtPrize taking the spotlight in Grand Rapids for the next couple of weeks, it's no surprise that there are a lot of art related activities going on. Here's what's happening this weekend in Todd's Weekend Adventures.

ArtPrize Scavenger Hunt

There's a scavenger hunt just for the kids while touring the multiple pieces of art in downtown Grand Rapids. GR Kids has a printable sheet of items that parents and kids can hunt down together. The sheet has a variety of items including rainbows, ballerinas, spiders, and more.

The best part is that you can print a stroller friendly map of the venues of where you can find the items so the grownups can control the pace for the day.

ArtPrize Labs: Drop-In Studio

While you're strolling around downtown, don't miss out on the ArtPrize Drop-In Studios. Happening inside the hub at 41 Sheldon Avenue, this is a quiet space with plenty of materials for all ages to get creative. There will be hands on activities in a pop-up park outside the hub with projects inspired by ArtPPrize artist entry categories.

ArtPrize STEAM Village Learning Lab

As long as you're stopping at ArtPrize headquarters, stop inside the hub and check out their brand new STEAM Village Learning Lab. The family can immerse themselves in an experience that combines the power of the arts with technology, science, engineering, and math.

The whole family can interact with immersive games and art pieces like Planet3 and a virtual reality game called "Tilt Brush." There will also be a tinker table, giving you and the kids hands on experience to learn and create whatever their minds can come up with.
