DRUMMOND ISLAND, Mich. – A 98-year-old man is doing well after spending the night lost in the woods on Drummond Island.
Drummond Island is along the eastern-most island of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan before the Canadian border.
According to a community Facebook page, Floyd Fox went out after dinner to prune some trees for a sight line for his deer blind. The post says “Grandpa Fox” is of strong mind and body and no one was concerned that he wouldn’t be up to the task.
But, he didn’t come back and after crews searched much of night, a rescuer’s dog found Floyd at about 7:00am. He was in good spirits and was just hungry.
