Police search for hit-and-run driver who left bicyclist seriously hurt

KENTWOOD, Mich. — A 26-year-old man is hospitalized in serious condition after Kentwood police say he was struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday.

Police say the bicyclist was riding westbound on 36th street shortly after 1:15 a.m. Saturday when he was struck by the hit and run driver while trying to cross Broadmoor Avenue.

The vehicle continued northbound on Broadmoor Avenue following the accident.

Kent County dispatch says the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious head injuries.

Police on the scene say they are looking for a gray vehicle with damage to its passenger side.
