CNN contributor Van Jones to speak in Grand Rapids

Posted

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.– CNN contributor and environmental and human rights activist, Van Jones, will be in Grand Rapids this fall for the 7th annual LINC Up Community Spirit Awards.

The awards ceremony and luncheon will be during a two-day Empowered Communities Conference from October 26th and 27th.

The conference will focus on engaging the community to work towards fixing community issues for future success.

Van Jones will be in attendance for a discussion on racial equity and race relations. Being the co-founder of two social justice organizations, Jones is looking forward to his Grand Rapids visit.

“I often say that in a democracy, people won’t always get to have their way, but they should always get to have their say, and I firmly believe an organization like LINC Up is helping people do just that- and for that I commend them. I’m honored and excited to be in Grand Rapids as part of this important event and conference,” Jones said in a press release.

Everyone in the Greater Grand Rapids Community is encouraged to attend. If you would like to register and purchase tickets to the event, you can visit lincup.org/CSA-Register.
