GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kenowa Hills Middle School is still not ready for students, so the school will be closed on Wednesday.
The high school, which was also closed Tuesday, will be open Wednesday.
The district says that the delay was caused by hail damage that caused leaks in the roofs. The leaks have been repaired, but a full roof replacement is expected to be needed for next summer. Classrooms had to be cleaned and air quality samples were taken to make sure rooms were safe for occupancy. Teachers had not had time to set up their classrooms for the school year.
