GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An East Grand Rapids Public Safety Officer plead guilty to drunk driving after being involved in a crash in August.
Officer Nicholas Schwein pleaded guilty to charges of operating while intoxicated and the leaving the scene of an accident Tuesday. He was off duty when police say he left the scene of a property damage crash in Cannon Township August 4th.
East Grand Rapids Chief Mark Herald says that Schwein’s employment status with the force has been changed from paid administrative leave to unpaid administrative leave. His future with the department is pending an internal investigation.
