PARK TWP., Mich. — A rollover crash Friday night sent three people to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the intersection of Butternut Drive and New Holland Street in Park Township shortly before 7 p.m. Friday for a rollover crash.

Police say the crash happened when a 26-year-old Holland resident tried to turn southbound on Butternut Drive in front of a 74-year-old Grand Haven resident, hitting the passenger side door.

The crash overturned the car sending it off the roadway into mailboxes and a tree.

The 74-year-old and his 73-year-old passenger were trapped in the car for 25 minutes until first responders could rescue them. They were both taken to Holland Community hospital.

The 26-year-old Holland resident was also taken to the Holland Community Hospital for minor injuries. Two children, inside the 26-year-old’s vehicle, we’re not injured in the crash.

It is not known if alcohol contributed to the crash but everyone was wearing their seat belts, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
