BYRON CENTER, Mich. -- One person was killed in a traffic crash involving two vehicles in Byron Center on Thursday morning.
According to dispatchers, the crash happened at around 5:40 a.m. at the intersection of 76th Street and Byron Center Avenue. Police at the scene say a 59-year-old woman failed to stop at the flashing red light at the intersection and was struck on the driver's side by a Ford F-150.
The woman, Cindy Drier, 59, of Hudsonville, died in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck, Luis Ortiz, 33, of Wyoming, suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
