GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The official groundbreaking date for one of the first free-standing Chick-fil-A’s in the state has been set.
Construction is underway at site at 1545 Edgeknoll Drive, near the M-6 and Kalamazoo Avenue. The ceremonial groundbreaking is slated for Thursday, August 25, at 2:00 p.m, according to a release from CP Communications. This location is the second free-standing Chick-fil-A under construction in the state.
The groundbreaking will be a private event consisting of local community leaders and Chick-fil-A representatives.
The restaurant is expected to open in the first quarter of 2017. The restaurant is expected to create 80-90 new jobs in the area.
The project was green-lit by the Gaines Township Board of Commissioners in May.
