GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A daily record rainfall total was recorded in Grand Rapids yesterday. The final tally came in just after midnight: 2.61″ fell on the Furniture City, more than twice the previous record that was set on August 12th, 1963.

This heavy rainfall is still running into local rivers, creeks, and streams. Therefore, a Flood Warning remains in effect until 12:30 PM for several counties in the FOX 17 viewing area — mainly to the south of Grand Rapids:
In addition, more rainfall is likely through this morning and possibly into the early afternoon hours.
A cold front will bring drier, slightly cooler air into the region late this afternoon and into tomorrow. The dry stretch of weather should last through Monday, but more showers and storms will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday.
