GRPD: 23-year-old injured in shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police say a 23-year-old man was injured in an overnight shooting.

According to a release, the man arrived at an area hospital at about 2:53 a.m. Friday with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.   He said he was shot near Grandville Avenue and Clyde Park Avenue SW after being approached by a group of people.

The man told police that he flagged down someone in a passing vehicle who took him to the hospital.   His injuries are non-life threatening.
