BLOOMINGDALE, Mich. – Three teens are in custody for allegedly robbing a bank Thursday afternoon.

The Van Buren County Sheriff says that about 1:15pm, the trio allegedly drove a dark blue minivan to the Marathon gas station in Bloomingdale and parked.

From there, they went to the Chemical Bank and told staff that they had a gun.  They got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, went to the vehicle and left the scene.

Investigators were able to get witness accounts and surveillance video of the incident. A Van Buren deputy who is assigned to the township alerted investigators that he was familiar with a person described in the incident and the vehicle.  The suspects were taken into custody a short time later.

Investigators say all the money taken in the robbery has been recovered, except for $20.

Ebony Dukes, 17, was arraigned Friday in South Haven District court in connection with the robbery.  The other two suspects, a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were charged in Paw Paw Juvenile Court.
