GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Grand Rapids Fire Department units were called to 1077 Leonard Street NE around 3:50 a.m. Friday to find fire in a structure. The building, apparently a former residence converted to office space, was said to be unoccupied at the time.

Units blocked Leonard Street west of Fuller Avenue as firefighters worked on various levels of the building, including the attic.

The scene was nearly cleared by 5:30 a.m., and an investigation was begun.
