PAW PAW, Mich. — A Decatur man is expected to be arraigned Thursday for a home invasion and felonious assault.

Michigan State Police say that around 6:00p.m. Wednesday on 40th Street in Paw Paw Township, a 28-year-old man entered his ex-girlfriend’s home and tried to force her into his vehicle.

During the attempt, the woman’s father confronted the suspect,  causing the suspect to point a handgun at him. The woman was able to escape.

After fleeing the scene, troopers found the suspect and the handgun, inside a home on Centre Ave. in Portage.

The suspect was also wanted on six unrelated warrants and is currently being lodged at the Van Buren County Jail. His identity will be released after his arraignment.
