HART COUNTY, Ky. — Investigators in Kentucky have identified a woman whose dismembered body was found inside a tote bag in the Green River.
A fisherman found the body Saturday morning. Kentucky State Police identified the woman as 22-year-old Kristen Edwards of Barren County, Ky., according to WDRB.
Edwards is a mother of two, according to friends and family. Longtime friend Cameron Kendall described her as “quiet” and a “country girl” who never caused anyone harm or trouble.
“It takes a cruel mind to do something like that,” Kendall told WDRB hours after learning that Edwards had been killed.
Investigators haven’t released any information about the circumstances leading to Edwards’ death. She last posted on Facebook on July 14, writing, “Somehow I know there’s more to life than this.”
Police have not released any potential motives or suspects in Edwards’ death.
