Deputies in Calhoun County discover meth lab in car

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Deputies in Calhoun County arrested a man they say had a “one-pot” meth lab in his vehicle.

The man as stopped early Sunday morning at 1:25 for a traffic violation on Morgan Rd. near Purdy Dr., deputies said.

During that stop, deputies discovered the meth lab and several items used to make meth. Three people were in the vehicle.

Investigators interviewed all three and discovered a 40-year-old man from Pennfield Township was in possession of the lab as the vehicle was driving.

The man was arrested. He’s expected to be arraigned on charges of operating and maintaining a meth lab as well as parole violation.

The other two in the vehicle were released.
