Posted

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The third annual 'Grand Rapids Balloon Festival' starts Friday in Hudsonville at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds and goes through Saturday.

Thirty balloons with pilots from all over Michigan will be coming for the event. The festival raises money for charities, like the Children's Miracle Network and Helen Devos Children's Hospital.

You and your family can experience everything from carnival games and an art & craft show to face paint and of course balloon launches.

The pilots will raise their colorful balloons around 8:00 pm Friday and as the sun goes down, pilots light up their burners around 9:00 pm.

There's free parking, kids two and under get in for free, and tickets are just $1 for kids 17 and younger. Otherwise, it'll cost you $3.

Keep in mind all activities are weather permitting and remember to bring out your lawn chair or blanket.
