MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. – A Wyoming man has been arrested and charged for a crash that killed two people in May.
Joel Ibarra, 26, was arrested Monday and was arraigned of four counts, including two counts of operating while under the influence of a controlled substance causing death and two counts of reckless driving causing death.
The crash happened on Sunday evening May 1st on M-66 in Belvidere Township. Montcalm deputies say that Ibarra’s 2012 Audi hit the 1999 Buick driven by Raymond and Mary Wrona head-on, while Ibarra was trying to pass multiple vehicles.
The Wronas were both killed in the crash. Both were 88 years old.
Ibarra faces a possibility of 15 years in prison for each charge. He is currently free on a $35,000 bond.
