GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – This week could be a good week to be a cat in Kent County.

The Kent County Animal Shelter is offering cats over four months old free for adoption.  Kittens are available for adoption at half price ($20 instead of $40).

The offer is good starting Wednesday and will run through Friday, July 22.

To get a cat, you still need to go to the Kent County Animal Shelter at 740 Fuller N.E. in Grand Rapids, fill out an adoption form and provide photo identification with a current address.

All the cats available have been spayed or neutered.  All the cats are up to date on vaccinations, have been tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, and have received a flea treatment.  The cats have all also been microchipped.
