GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hundreds of people took part in an "Am I Next" rally in downtown Grand Rapids at midday Saturday.

The event took place in Rosa Parks Circle and featured signs, smiles and dancing.

It was organized by a group of local high school students as a peaceful movement recognizing the lives of all minorities and those lost in senseless murders.

In the 72 hours prior to the rally, a community bike ride in support of peace and unity also was organized. More than 30 riders participated in that event.
