GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The latest Pokemon game lets its players catch imaginary creatures in real life. And according to Grand Rapids Pokemasters, Meijer Gardens happens to be a goldmine for all sorts of Pokemon.
The abundance of Pokemon is great for game advancement, but not great for security, as players have been either sneaking in, jumping fences, getting in at the last minute and staying after close.
This past weekend, security at the gardens found 9 groups of people wandering after hours in search of their next Pokemon. To date, no arrests have been made.
Spokesperson John VanderHaagen told FOX 17 News that anyone caught in the gardens will be asked to leave. If they linger after, the police will be called.
VanderHaagen says that Pokemon players are welcome to play at the Gardens during normal hours.
