WALKER, Mich. — Police say Julius Thomas, 68, who reportedly went missing around 3:00 p.m. Sunday, has been found safe.

Thomas had been returning a rental vehicle and was last seen in the area of Alpine Avenue and I-96 in Walker. Police say he suffers from dementia and just moved to Alpine Township from out-of-state.

After media reports describing Thomas and the vehicle he was driving, an alert citizen recognized him and his rental Penske truck, and called police.  The caller then stayed with the vehicle until deputies arrived.  Mr. Thomas is now safe with his family.
