VICTORVILLE, California — It was a scary trip to the store for a California family.
When a mother walked into Macias Cellular & Computers in Victorville, California, surveillance cameras recorded the terrifying moment when a man leaned into the store and pulled her 4-year-old daughter out.
“[The mom] had said that the guy was looking at her from when she got out of her car, but she didn’t think he would follow her,” store owner Miguel Macias said.
But the man did follow the family, and grabbed the little girl by her arm. As he ran away, the mother ran after him.
“She was just screaming, crying she couldn’t believe it,” Macias said.
The mom and another customer caught up to the man and took the child back, according to authorities.
“She was crying (but) she wasn’t screaming, she was really terrified,” witness Craig Battles said.
Witnesses ended up tackling the man and holding him until police arrived.
The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Terry Ransom, was arrested and held on $250,000 bail.
