NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two men were sent to the hospital with what were believed to be serious injuries after a head-on crash on 18 Mile just north of Cedar Springs in Nelson Township.
The crash took place near 18 Mile Road near Ritchie Avenue just before 7 a.m. when the drivers of a pickup and a car swerved to avoid one another and collided.
One of the drivers needed to be extricated from his vehicle. At first Aero Med was called in, but the helicopter was cancelled and the patient was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.
Both male drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles.
