OCEANA COUNTY, Mich. – A man from Michigan’s east side may face charges after firing his a gun in anger, after shooting himself in the hand first.
Oceana County deputies were called Sunday night to the Jellystone Campground on Hazel Road near Silver Lake on reports of an accidental shooting. The man had a gunshot wound in his hand and told deputies that he didn’t think his gun was loaded when he accidentally shot himself. But, then because he was angry about shooting himself, he fired another shot into the bed of the camper where he was staying.
The man was taken to Hackley Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby by the people he was camping with. The report is being turned over to the Oceana County Prosecutor for possible charges of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.
