Grand Rapids Symphony’s D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops returns for its 22nd season at Cannonsburg Ski Area in July and August.

Concerts open July 14 and 15 with “Classical Fireworks!” featuring classical favorites regularly heard in movie scores plus original music from John Williams’ scores for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” and “ET: The Extra Terrestrial” under the direction of Principal Pops Conductor Bob Bernhardt. A grand finale fireworks show tops off both night’s concerts.

Other concerts coming to Cannonsburg include:

  • The Music of the Beach Boys on July 28 and 29
  • The Music of David Bowie on August 2
  • An appearance by Boyz II Men with the Grand Rapids Symphony on August 4

Season packages available for first three pairs of concerts or six-pack Flexpass offering six tickets for the first three weeks, which can be used in any way possible, such as two tickets to three consecutive shows or all six tickets at one show. The final two concerts are one-night only special events.

You can bring your own food and drink including alcohol, or grilled concessions can be purchased at Cannonsburg.
