Get your thumbs ready, because video game fanatics can come play retro video games, listen to live music, and contribute to a good cause this weekend.
GR8bit Live is a charity event where they primarily focus on 80s and 90s retro video games and music. 100 percent of the profits go to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
The charity event is Friday, July 1 at Schuler Books on 28th Street, and Saturday, July 2 at the Pyramid Scheme in downtown Grand Rapids. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m.
There will be a retro video game tournament, a game show, and live music.
Bands performing at the event include The Returners, Gimmick, Mail Order Monsters, Super Guitar Bros., Knight of the Round, Arc Impulse, and Playing With Power!
In addition to live music and games, there will be a raffle for a chance to win a custom glow-in-the-dark Atari 2600 and a brand new limited edition "Uncharted 4" Playstation 4.
