Man charged with being intoxicated in fatal Kentwood crash

KENTWOOD, Mich. – A Kentwood man has been charged in a fatal crash in March and police say he had marijuana in his system.

The Kent County Prosecutor’s office tells FOX 17 that Dillon Michael Clapp, 26, has been charged with reckless and intoxicated driving causing death in the crash that killed Jeri Lynn Hoek and critically injured her husband, Douglas.

The crash happened on March 4 at the intersection of East Paris Avenue and 60th Street SE.

Dillon is free on a $10,000 bond. He faces up to 15 years in prison for the charges in Hoek’s death and another ten years in prison for the injuries to Hoek’s husband.
