ROTHBURY, Mich. — Investigators in Oceana County are trying to figure out how a Lansing man died at the Electric Forest Festival.
Michigan State Police say 22-year-old Michael John Stephenson suffered a “medical emergency” at about 9:30 a.m. Monday as the music event wrapped up in Rothbury. He later died.
Police said in a release that his death remains under investigation and they are awaiting autopsy results. The final autopsy report will be sent to the Oceana County Medical Examiner’s Office.
More than 30,000 people attended the sold out music festival this year. This is the fourth reported death at Electric Forest since 2012.
