GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Mary Free Bed is already well-known for their rehabilitation services in the United States, but their unexpected campaign results are giving them an even better reputation.

The “Join the Movement” capital campaign is the largest campaign in Mary Free Bed’s 125 year history. The goal was to raise $16 million to support the $66.4 million expansion and renovation project for the hospital, which would make it the fifth largest freestanding rehabilitation hospital in the nation.

The campaign goal was exceeded, by nearly $1 million, due to 500 generous donors.

Mary Free Bed will continue to help patients to achieve their goals through rehabilitative technology and advancements, but to continue to touch the lives of those who support causes such as “Join the Movement.”

The first anniversary of the West Building at Mary Free Bed was in March, and renovation of the existing main building is on time, and should open in early October.
