GRAND RAPIDS, Mich – A nearly year-long search for a fugitive featured on West Michigan’s Most Wanted has ended.
Calvin Dexter Stewart, 21, was arrested in Grand Rapids last week by members of the Michigan Department of Corrections Absconder Recovery Unit. Federal authorities say a tip to Silent Observer led to his location and arrest.
Stewart had avoided authorities since September 2015 after violating the terms of his parole. He’d previously served time for prior convictions including operating a vehicle on a suspended license causing injury and drug possession.
Along with charges dealing with his parole violation, Stewart is also facing charges for the delivery and/or manufacture of marijuana, fleeing from police and for non-payment of child support.
