MUSKEGON, Mich. – A man who allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl in April that led to murder charges against him will stand trial for the kidnapping.

Jeffrey Willis waived his right to a preliminary trial Wednesday on charges of kidnapping with the intent to commit sexual assault the girl in April.  He is also charged with felony firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Willis was arrested in May and after investigators searched his home and vehicle for evidence, he was also charged in the 2014 murder of Rebekah Bletsch.  His preliminary hearing for that charge is currently scheduled for Wednesday, June 22.

Willis has also been named as a person-of-interest in the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa from a Norton Shores gas station in 2013.
