BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Fire crews estimate a Saturday morning fire caused $15,000 in damage to a home.

It happened just after 1 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West Van Buren Street.

Firefighters say when they got there, smoke was coming from the front door of the home. They say everyone was able to get out of the home safely.

It took crews just minutes to put out the fire, which was contained to the kitchen.
