Michigan to sell surplus goods in Lansing on Saturday

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The state of Michigan is having a garage sale Saturday.

The state is selling a variety of surplus goods, from computers to clothing to office furniture. The sale also includes tools, scissors, knives and other items collected by security guards at Michigan airports.

The store will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 3111 W. St. Joseph in Lansing. Cash, credit cards and personal checks up to $200 will be accepted. Make sure you have a strong back: No loading assistance will be available.

Shoppers also can continue to use a state online auction site, which regularly sells surplus goods 24 hours a day. It can be found at www.michigan.gov/mibid
