WAYLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Wayland-area man was seriously injured after being hit by a pickup truck Wednesday night.
Michigan State Police say the 35-year-old man was walking his bicycle on the shoulder of 135th Avenue, west of 6th Street at about 10:30pm. Witnesses tell police a red Ford pickup truck heading east on 135th hit the man from behind and continued on without stopping.
The man was taken to Metro Hospital in serious condition. It is not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
