HOLLAND TWP., Mich. – A 25-year-old Holland man has been cited for drunk driving after he hit a railroad crossing signal early Monday morning.

The crash happened just before 6:00am on Lakewood Blvd. near Douglas Avenue.  Deputies say that the man was heading west on Lakewood in his 2009 GMC Acadia when he missed the slight curve in the road and hit the signal.  His vehicle rolled over and the overhanging signals fell into the roadway.

The man was able to get out of the vehicle on his own and he was taken by ambulance to Holland Hospital.  The extent of his injuries isn’t known, but he is listed in stable condition.

Deputies cited the man for Operating While Intoxicated.
