Key arrest made in 2-year-old’s shooting in Detroit

DETROIT (AP) — Police say they’ve made a key arrest in the shooting of a 2-year-old Detroit girl.

St. John Hospital spokesman Brian Taylor says the girl is in critical condition Thursday, a day after the shooting. Police earlier said she had died.

The girl was shot in the head while in a car with her father Wednesday night. Police say there was a dispute between her father and neighbors.

A family member, Michael Oldham, tells The Detroit News that the girl is “still hanging on, but it’s pretty critical.”

A 31-year-old man who may have been the shooter is in custody. Two other people have also been arrested.
