Norton Shores bank robbed; suspect on the run

NORTON SHORES, Mich. - Police are on the scene of a bank robbery in Norton Shores.

The robbery happened late Monday afternoon at the First Merit Bank in the 900 block of West Norton.

Police say the suspect implied to tellers that he had a gun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen running westbound on foot.

He is described as a white man with a goatee, in his mid-40s, about 5'10" tall, and 200 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a blue hat.

Norton Shores Police released the following surveillance photos of the suspect.

No injuries were reported.
