GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Summer is almost here and students who get free meals at school are looking for sources during the vacation months.
Grand Rapids Public Schools is holding their Summer Food Showcase Tuesday night from 4:30pm – 6:00pm at the Gerald R. Ford Academic Center at 851 Madison SE. The event will give families information on where to find free meals for the summer and provide taste tests and recipes, as well as kid-friendly activities.
Free summer meals are provided for kids 18 and under at more than 20 locations in Grand Rapids. The meals begin on June 13th and are funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “Meet Up and Eat Up” program. No registration is required and sites either offer a lunch or breakfast or a snack. The sites are:
